Moving from tearoom discussions to creating sustainable, vibrant workplaces in healthcare means transitioning from informal chats amongst nursing staff to identifying and developing formal, practical strategies for a healthier, more dynamic work environment. In many healthcare workplaces, informal discussions on what’s wrong, what needs to change, and what needs to happen too often only occur in tea rooms, treatment rooms, nurses’ stations, or even at the patient’s bedside.

While these exchanges are essential for team bonding and stress relief (not the discussions at the patient’s bedside!), they may not always lead to constructive solutions or organisational change. They may even link to more significant stress because nothing changes as these informal conversations are repeated over and over.

This conference aims to provide an alternative to the tearoom by creating a collegial space for robust discussion. You will gain new insight and skills into what an individual can do to influence and create change in a workplace. Change is possible – and it begins with a conversation.

Your three conference facilitators have more than 100 years of experience in the nursing profession between them. They bring their lived experiences to generate discussion, offer strategies, and provide a supportive space for turning conversations into action.
